STI Engineering Achieves UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification

A recognition that makes a long-standing commitment embedded in the STI Group’s corporate culture tangible and measurable.

On 28 July, STI Engineering obtained the Gender Equality Certification in accordance with UNI/PdR 125:2022, issued by SGS Italia, marking an important milestone in the journey undertaken to make its commitment to gender equality, inclusion and people development increasingly structured, transparent and measurable.

This achievement holds particular significance for STI: it does not mark the beginning of a new corporate policy, but rather the formal recognition of an approach that has shaped the way we work, collaborate and grow for many years.

From Corporate Culture to a Certified Management System

At STI Engineering – and across the STI Group as a whole – attention to people, equal opportunities and inclusion have long been an integral part of our corporate culture.

Over the years, this approach has also resulted in a significant female presence across managerial, technical and management roles, as well as among the key people contributing to the Group’s international development. This is something we had already highlighted when we first embarked on the certification process and demonstrates how female leadership has long been an integral part of our story.

Building on this foundation, we decided to take a further step: turning principles and practices already embedded within the organisation into a structured, verifiable system focused on continuous improvement.

The certification process involved several corporate functions across the organisation, working together to analyse existing processes, define objectives and responsibilities, and identify new opportunities for improvement. This collaborative effort enabled us to give greater structure and measurability to values that were already deeply rooted in the way we operate.

What UNI/PdR 125:2022 Certification Means

UNI/PdR 125:2022 sets out guidelines for a gender equality management system and requires the adoption of specific indicators to measure an organisation’s policies, processes and results in this area.

Being certified therefore means going beyond a statement of intent: it means adopting a system through which objectives and results can be measured, verified and monitored over time.

In the case of STI Engineering, SGS verified the compliance of the management system with the requirements of UNI/PdR 125:2022 in relation to the measures adopted to ensure gender equality in the workplace. The certification covers STI Engineering’s Italian offices in San Daniele del Friuli, Udine, Trieste, Fiumicino, Milan and Catania, confirming a shared and widespread approach across the organisation.

A Milestone with a Focus on the Future

Achieving certification is not the end of the journey.

By its very nature, the certification requires the management system to be maintained and monitored over time: STI Engineering’s certificate is valid until 28 July 2029, subject to the successful completion of periodic surveillance activities.

This means continuing to measure results, identify areas for improvement and set new objectives, while maintaining a strong focus on gender equality and inclusion.

This approach is also fully aligned with the vision of STI Corporate S.p.A. – Benefit Corporation, which includes the promotion of diversity, inclusion and social responsibility among its objectives.

At STI, we believe that the quality of an organisation is measured not only by the projects it delivers or the results it achieves, but also by its ability to create an environment in which skills, responsibilities and opportunities can grow without being influenced by gender.

From Culture to Certification. From Certification to Continuous Improvement.

When we embarked on this journey, our goal was to formally recognise something we already considered part of our identity: making a culture built over time transparent, measurable and verifiable.

Today, that journey has reached an important milestone.

For STI Engineering, the UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification represents not only formal recognition, but above all a commitment to the future: to continue building an organisation in which equity, inclusion and people development are an integral part of the way we do business.

Because gender equality is not simply an achievement to be declared once it has been reached, but a principle to be translated every day into behaviours, processes and tangible opportunities.
